David Neel - Thunderbird
Jewelry designer and artist David Neel (Kwagiutl) is a leader in the field
of Northwest Coast Native art. He combines a firm knowledge of his artistic
culture with a solid foundation in modern jewelry design and technique.
His vision is to create pieces that are unique, authentic and beautiful
while remaining affordable. His years of experience, uncompromising
attention to detail and artistic vision result in works of art that are
international in appeal while remaining distinctive. He relies on two
decades of artistic practice in creating his unique and beautiful jewelry
line. His work establishes a link between a great traditional culture and
fine contemporary jewelry. Powerful masks and timeless legends are brought
to life through miniature sculptures and sterling silver.
David Neel followws a creative path first traveled by his ancestors who are
some of the greatest artists to come from the Kwagiutl tradition. This
inclues his grandmother, Ellen Neel; his great uncle, Mungo Martin; and his
great, great grandfather, Charlie James. David Neel has built an impressive
career of his own working as a jewelry designer, a multi-media artist who
